    DEPARTMENT CHAIRS

    Songwriting, Yehuda Eder (Rimon’s President)

    Yehuda currently serves and inspires daily as the Rimon President and Director of the Songwriting & Music Production department. A virtuoso on guitar, Yehuda is considered one of Israel’s Rock icons. Since graduating from the esteemed Berklee College of Music in 1980, he was active as a member of Israeli Rock groups Tamuz and Doda. He has collaborated with Israeli legends including Meir Ariel, Shlomo Artzi, and David Broza as a musical producer, artistic advisor, performer, and arranger.  In 2007, Yehuda released his first solo album, Dear Mr. Grossbard alongside Harry Lipshitz and Eytan Gidron. He is among the founders of Beit Hamouzot – a high school in Jaffa for at-risk teens that focuses on art and therapy. 

    Voice, Yasmin Gamliel

    Yasmin is a Rimon graduate who joined the faculty in 1996 and became Voice chair in 2014. Yasmin studied voice development with Rachel Hochman, Mira Zakai, and Ester Edmon. She was a member of the trio Mango (Live in Hamkin) and served in the army as a vocalist for the North Command Band (Get Up and Walk in Israel and Your Wonders Will Not End). She has participated in many musical productions, such as the evening of Shmirit Or’s songs, Yair Rosenblum, the Abu Gush Music Festival, and more. Since 2003, she has been a member of the professional acapella group Shimniyyat Vocal and in addition founded and performs in the Abba tribute band Waterloo.  

    Guitar, Erez Yulevich

    Guitarist, arranger and composer.
    Erez is a graduate from  Berklee College of Music in Boston and specializes in Film Scoring. He is currently completing a master’s degree in composition at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance and studies economics and management at Open University. Since 2009, Erez teaches a wide variety of courses at Rimon: private and group lessons, theory, reading, arranging, Cubase, and ensembles. Erez initiated and directs RockRimon the flagship competition for original music ensembles.


    Erez leads the music major at Shoham High School and previously taught matriculation in the music majors at Talma Yelin, Ironi A, Hed College, and New Herzliya High School, as well as youth programs Matan and Sixth Jam. He served as a guitarist and arranger in the band Nahal and since then has accompanied artists as a guitarist. He’s worked with Eyal Golan, Kobi Peretz, Yehoram Gaon, Shlomit Aharon, David Daur, and many others. He participated in many television programs, including Dan Shilon, Dudu Topaz, Rafi Rashef, Dancing with the Stars, and Shavua Sof Channel 24.  His studio has produced albums for Mati Caspi, Shuli Natan, Shlomo Gronich, Ha’s Over Habibi, Yoram Gaon, Beaz Ben Moshe, Itai Perel, Efrat Gush, Maayan Hirshbein, and others. He appears on albums for Din Din Aviv, Ari Gourli, Rami Schuler, and Olapan Shel Yolwitz. Erez recently composed underscore music to productions of plays including Antigone, The Old Man and the Sea, Where did You Come From?, Rachel’s Love, and Hashimta Kuli. Erez took first place at the Haifa Festival for Children’s Plays 2013. 

    Music Production, Oded Davidov

    Oded Davidov serves as Chair of the production track at Rimon. He is a producer, sound technician, and pianist with a degree from Berklee College of Music.  He also completed Mix With The Masters with Michael Brewer at Studios La Fabrique, France. Specializing in rock music, alternative rock, Israeli music, and electronic music, he’s produced for Anat Esther Hitman, Barak Weiss, Michal Rashef, FLOW, and many more. Oded is also very active creating music for media and various corporate needs and is in demand in the advertising world. He served as the Head of Promotions and as a radio announcer for Gali IDF

    Jazz Institute, Ronen Shmueli 

    Accomplished pianist, composer, and arranger Ronen Shmueli directs the Rimon Jazz Institute – a by-audition major for outstanding jazz performers.  After serving in the IDF orchestra as a keyboard player and arranger (with the status of outstanding musician), he studied at Rimon and was subsequently invited to study at Berklee College of Music on a full scholarship. The Jazz Institute is internationally recognized through its world-wide collaborations with well-known artists. His Jazz Rimon performance series is known throughout the country. Ronen is often interviewed as a subject matter expert in Jazz History and performs actively in Israel and abroad.

    Composition and Conducting, Dr. Roy Oppenheim

    Esteemed conductor and educator Roy Oppenheim holds a PhD in the Philosophy of Education from  Hebrew University and a Master’s degree in Conducting from The Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. Roy chairs Rimon’s Contemporary Music Writing and Production for the Performing Arts department. He taught at other prominent Israel institutions including Hebrew University, Tel Aviv University’s Faculty of Arts and Academy of Music, and Technion. He is a sought-after lecturer in the fields of philosophy of music, conducting and leadership, music for films and the performing arts, and musical creativity. 

    As Co-founder and Co-Artistic Director of The Revolution Orchestra since 2004, Roy also served as Musical Director/In-House Conductor for Haifa Symphony Orchestra and conducted the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Rishon LeZion Symphony Orchestra, The Camerata, and Be’er Sheva Sinfonietta. He has performed throughout Israel and around the world including at the Israel Festival, FITS Sibiu, and at the famed Royal Albert Hall in London. A recipient of the 2004 Ricardo Muti Award for Conducting, Roy conducted various musical theater performances in Israel including Haifa Theater’s Billy Schwartz and for Cameri Theater, Threepenny Opera, The Hasidic Kopple, Angels in America, and Hubeza.  Roy conducts the annual Revolution Series at the Israeli Opera House and Herzliya Hall for the Performing Arts. He has collaborated with various leading artists such as Vertigo Dance Company, Infected Mushroom, and Third World Love. He has released recordings with Hadag Nahash, Ziporella, Ivri Lider, Gidi Gov, and Dudu Tassa, to name a few.

    Production and Performance, Elad Adar

    After his time as a military musician, Elad graduated from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance and holds a master’s degree with honors in music, media and technology from Bar Ilan University. Elad has worked with Gidi Gov, Alon Olarchik, Yoni Rechter, Yehudit Ravitz, Shem Tov Levy, Rami Kleinstein, David Broza, Rita, Yehuda Poliker, Yohorm Gaon, Shlomo Yadov, Amir Dadon, Eli Butner, Avraham Fried, Yermi Kaplan, Dana Berger, Danny Robs, Sharit Haddad, Ephraim Shamir, Yigal Bashan, and many more. He’s played with the Be’er Sheva Sinfonietta Orchestra, the Jerusalem Camerata Orchestra, the Haifa Symphony Orchestra, and the Ashdod Andalusian Orchestra.

    Elad works very closely with Alon Ularchik and produced and co-composed Olarchik Style and One Day. They performed at the International Jazz Festival in Tashkent, at the Jewish Music Festival in Krakow and a US tour in 2018. with Gidi Gov, he performed in concert events Lila Gov, Yehuda Polikar and Gidi Gov, and Gidi Gov Sings Jazz. Elad produced David D’Or’s platinum album Voice of Love and accompanied the world tour.
